Leader of the Opposition V. D. Satheesan accused Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan of using Vellappally Natesan as a mouthpiece to create a communal divide in the state. Satheesan alleged Vijayan is attempting to stoke communal hatred, similar to Sangh Parivar efforts, after the Left front's electoral setback. He also questioned Vijayan's inaction against CPI(M) leaders jailed in a gold theft case, suggesting Vijayan himself might need to be questioned.
