The Indian government plans to demolish Krishi Bhawan and Shastri Bhawan in Delhi to construct two new Common Central Secretariat Buildings 4 and 5, costing over Rs 3,006 crore. Covering 1.22 lakh square metres on Dr Rajendra Prasad Road, the new eight-floor steel-structured buildings will replace existing offices currently housing several ministries. The project includes a two-year construction timeline and five years of maintenance. This redevelopment follows the recent inauguration of Kartavya Bhawans and aims to facilitate the relocation of ministries and the development of the Yuge Yugeen Bharat Museum at Raisina Hill.
