Guinea's junta chief Mamady Doumbouya has been elected President with 86.72 percent of the vote, according to initial results from the country's election commission. Voter turnout was reported at 80.95 percent. Doumbouya, who previously pledged not to run after seizing power, faced eight rivals. However, opposition leaders called for a boycott, with a citizens' movement questioning the results and claiming a majority boycotted the election.
