
Ahead of the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, the Election Commission of India reported a verified electorate of approximately 5.67 crore voters after a Special Intensive Revision. The state includes over 12.5 lakh first-time voters aged 18-19 and about 1.05 crore voters aged 20-29, totaling around 1.18 crore young voters. To support this demographic, 3,060 assistant electoral registration officers were deployed. The commission planned 75,000 polling stations with measures like full webcasting and accessibility provisions for persons with disabilities and senior citizens to ensure transparency and inclusion.
