Opposition parties in Punjab have criticized the Aam Aadmi Party government's decision to hold a one-day special Assembly session on December 30. Critics, including Congress MLA Sukhpal Singh Khaira and BJP state president Sunil Jakhar, described the session as a "propaganda exercise" and a "theatre of mockery." They argue that such short sittings undermine the Vidhan Sabha's role in debate and accountability, particularly by omitting a Question Hour, thereby limiting elected representatives' ability to raise constituency issues and hold the government accountable.
