The surrender, witnessed by Telangana DGP B Shivadhar Reddy, followed extensive negotiations and intelligence efforts. Over the past two years, Sumathi has overseen the surrender of 591 Maoist cadres, with police highlighting the strategic approach to encourage leaders to give up arms rather than face arrest or encounter.
