A special NIA court in Srinagar has issued proclamation notices against former Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industries president Mubeen Shah, architect Tony Ashai, and Rifat Wani. The notices, issued under Section 82 of the Cr.PC, direct the three individuals to appear in court by January 31, 2026, in connection with a 2020 case involving anti-national propaganda and misinformation. The Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) alleges the accused conspired with secessionist forces, using social media to spread fake content aimed at inciting violence and disaffection against India. Wani is reportedly in the UK, while Shah and Ashai are believed to be in the US.
