Major Maharashtra Infrastructure Projects Advance: Mumbai Tunnel and Pune-Mumbai Bridge Near Completion

Two major infrastructure projects in Maharashtra are progressing towards completion. Mumbai's longest road tunnel, part of the Rs 15,738-crore Goregaon-Mulund Link Road, will begin excavation beneath Sanjay Gandhi National Park in June, aiming to reduce east-west travel time significantly by 2028. Meanwhile, the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation is finalizing a cable-stayed bridge over Tiger Valley on the Pune-Mumbai Expressway, with road laying and load testing underway, targeting a May 2026 opening to improve safety and traffic flow on a congested route.
