
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu announced the state is considering a Rs 25,000 incentive for couples having a second or subsequent child to address the declining Total Fertility Rate (TFR), currently at 1.5, below the replacement level of 2.1. The government plans to finalize a population management policy by March and implement it from April, aiming to counter challenges from an ageing population and potential workforce shortages.
