Thailand repatriated 18 Cambodian soldiers on Wednesday, following a new ceasefire agreement aimed at ending recent deadly border clashes. The soldiers, held for 155 days, were transferred at a border checkpoint under the supervision of the International Committee of the Red Cross. Both nations' foreign ministries stated the detainees were treated humanely. The release, part of a deal to maintain a 72-hour ceasefire, was delayed by one day due to alleged violations denied by Cambodia. The US and ICRC welcomed the move as a step towards rebuilding trust and normalizing relations.
