Aizawl Municipal Corporation Elections Expected in April or May After Term Ends

The Aizawl Municipal Corporation (AMC) elections in Mizoram are likely to be held in April or May, following the expiry of the current term on March 1. The Mizoram State Election Commissioner, H Lalthlangliana, cited administrative challenges including the state budget session, school examinations, and the financial year-end as reasons for the delay. The unavailability of electronic voting machines and prior election postponements were also noted. Until elections occur, an administrator will manage AMC functions.
