Mizoram to Implement PMFBY Crop Insurance Scheme with State Subsidies

Mizoram is set to implement the Centre's Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) covering five crops: paddy, ginger, Mizo chilli, cabbage, and brinjal. The scheme will initially target districts with high production potential and expand in phases. Under the state's Bana Kaih initiative, significant premium subsidies will be provided, with small farmers paying 10% and larger farmers receiving reduced subsidies. TATA AIG has been selected as the insurer through a tender process.
