The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has appointed Valmiki Naik as the new president of its Goa unit, replacing Amit Palekar. Gerson Gomes, Prashant Naik, and Sandesh Telekar Desai were also appointed to key state positions. This leadership change follows the party's poor performance in recent Zilla Panchayat elections. Palekar had resigned from the party, citing disagreements over decision-making processes and his removal from the presidential post. AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal expressed hope that the new leadership would bring about positive change in Goa.
