The Gujarat High Court has ruled that the Arasuri Ambaji Temple is public property, ending a 70-year dispute. The court dismissed claims by the Danta royal family for ownership and special privileges, including hereditary puja rights during Navratri. Justice Hemant M Prachchhak cited a 1957 Supreme Court judgment stating that property bequeathed to a deity becomes public property, invalidating private claims. The ruling upholds previous district court and charity commissioner decisions, asserting that the temple is a public religious institution.
