
The Delhi government plans a major upgrade of its citywide CCTV network, focusing on replacing around 1.4 lakh obsolete cameras installed during the 2018-19 phase, many of which were Chinese-made and raised security concerns. The Public Works Department will appoint an independent consultant to conduct a comprehensive study assessing camera distribution, angles, functionality, and data sharing to improve crime prevention and surveillance effectiveness across the city.
