Uttar Pradesh Labourer Receives Rs 7 Crore Income Tax Notice Amid Identity Misuse Suspicions

A daily-wage labourer from Rudamau village in Hardoi district, Uttar Pradesh, received an income tax notice demanding over Rs 7 crore in unpaid taxes. The man, Govind Kumar, and his family expressed confusion, suspecting identity misuse by fraudsters who may have created a fake firm using a bank account opened in his name years ago. The Income Tax Department official contacted said there was no information about serving such a notice in the village.
