The All India Shia Personal Law Board (AISPLB) has called for a Sachar-style committee to assess the social and economic status of Shias in India, advocating for reserved status to improve employment and upliftment. At their Lucknow convention, they also demanded investigations into alleged corruption within Shia Wakf Boards, particularly in Uttar Pradesh, and urged the government to enact a special law for Shia religious endowments. Additionally, the community reiterated its demand for the reconstruction of tombs at the Jannat al-Baqi cemetery in Medina.
