Central Government Employee Bodies Submit Key Demands to 8th Pay Commission

Central government employee and pensioner associations met in Delhi to consolidate demands for the 8th Pay Commission, including a fitment factor of around 3.2 to 3.25, higher annual increments (up to 7%), increased leave encashment from 300 to 400 days, restoration of the Old Pension Scheme, and a minimum of five promotions. They also seek higher medical allowances for non-CGHS areas and uniform promotion policies. The common memorandum will be submitted to the commission chairperson, while the government has launched the commission's official website and set an 18-month timeline for recommendations.
