Jharkhand Government Files Review Petition on Supreme Court Saranda Sanctuary Order

The Jharkhand government has not yet implemented the Supreme Court's November 13, 2025 order to notify 314.68 sq km of the Saranda Forest Division as a wildlife sanctuary, missing the February 12, 2026 deadline. Instead, the state has filed a review petition seeking clarification on certain points of the order. The government has not disclosed when the petition was filed or if the Supreme Court has accepted it, according to MLA Saryu Roy's queries in the state assembly.
