Punjab police have invoked the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) against accused individuals in the killing of assistant sub-inspector Gurnam Singh and Home Guard Ashok Kumar at a border outpost in Adhian village, Gurdaspur district. The accused, including Inderjit Singh and Dilawar Singh, are alleged to have links with Pakistan's ISI. One accused, Ranjit Singh, was killed in a police encounter, which has drawn calls for a judicial probe. Investigations suggest financial motives and organized crime involvement behind the murders.
