Punjab has established India's first permanent, air-conditioned tent city at Sri Anandpur Sahib to support the Hola Mohalla festival, addressing accommodation shortages for devotees and boosting religious tourism. The government is promoting a 'green' Hola Mohalla by banning single-use plastics and providing biodegradable alternatives at langar sites, funded by the Punjab Pollution Control Board. The city is also enhanced with heritage restoration projects, including the revamped Panj Piaras Park and Bhai Jaita Ji Museum.
