Karnataka Minister Details Waqf Board Land Status and Encroachment Issues

Karnataka's Housing, Waqf and Minority Welfare Minister B.Z. Zameer Ahmed Khan stated that over 1.12 lakh acres were donated to the Waqf Board, but it currently controls around 20,000-24,000 acres due to encroachments and land reforms. He clarified that Hindu temples and schools have not encroached on Waqf properties, attributing most encroachments to members of the Muslim community. The government has initiated Waqf Adalats to address illegal encroachments and recover land.
