Left Front leaders, including CPM's Md Salim and Biman Bose, protested at West Bengal's Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) office over alleged discrepancies in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls. They accused the Election Commission of removing genuine voters, particularly Muslims, Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and women, allegedly under BJP influence and with support from state officials. After being denied a meeting with the CEO, the leaders began a night-long dharna demanding rectification before upcoming Assembly polls.
