Deve Gowda Challenges Karnataka Government's Site Allotment for BMICP Land Losers

Former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda criticized the Karnataka government's decision to allot 1,453 sites to land losers of the Bengaluru-Mysore Infrastructure Corridor Project (BMICP), alleging it contradicts Supreme Court judgments and the government's prior positions. In an open letter to Chief Minister D K Shivakumar, Gowda argued that forming sites on land designated for roads violates the Framework Agreement and court rulings, potentially undermining the project's goals. The government had directed NICEL to proceed with the allotments despite earlier judicial rejections of such site formations.
