The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) has terminated the contracts of 20 retired officials hired as experts, citing age limits and unsatisfactory performance. GMDA CEO P.C. Meena stated that a review found many did not meet benchmarks, with officials over 65 not considered. The decision aims to inject new energy and fresh thinking into the organization, as extensions were not granted after a detailed assessment. Around 15 other retired officials were granted extensions based on satisfactory work.
