
Bangladesh has expressed its interest in principle to join an international stabilization force for Gaza, according to a government statement. National Security Adviser Khalilur Rahman conveyed this to U.S. diplomats in Washington. The U.N. Security Council previously authorized such a force. While the extent of Bangladesh's proposed involvement is unspecified, analysts suggest the offer could be part of a diplomatic strategy to strengthen ties with the U.S. and gain international legitimacy ahead of upcoming elections.
