
Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado secretly escaped the country in December 2025 after nearly a year in hiding to accept the Nobel Peace Prize in Norway. Despite a travel ban, she boarded a boat from the Venezuelan coast and was rescued at sea by Grey Bull Rescue, a US-based group led by special forces veteran Bryan Stern. A newly released video captures the nighttime extraction, showing Machado safely boarding Stern's vessel before traveling to Norway, where she later met US President Donald Trump.
