Greater Bengaluru Authority Detects Rs 688 Crore Property Tax Evasion, Auctions Properties

The Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) has uncovered property tax evasion totaling approximately Rs 688 crore across 23,600 properties through two rounds of GPS-based surveys, drone imagery, and house-to-house verification. The second phase detected Rs 318 crore in evasion from 13,600 properties, with around 67,000 notices issued. To recover dues, GBA auctioned seven properties, raising over Rs 7 crore in bids. Property owners have been given 15 days to respond or appeal via an online portal, with enforcement continuing as per regulations.
