Telangana to Replace GHMC Act with Core Urban Act Covering Three Municipal Corporations

The Telangana government plans to replace the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Act with a new Core Urban Act, applying to the recently formed municipal corporations of Cyberabad, Malkajgiri, and Greater Hyderabad. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy emphasized prioritizing development, sanitation, and cleanliness under a forthcoming 99-day programme. He instructed officials to designate garbage dumping sites, enforce related rules, install CCTV cameras in hotel kitchens for food safety, and ensure quality road construction within the core urban area.
