
Karnataka's 2026-27 budget includes a Comprehensive Coastal Tourism Development Plan to boost connectivity via sea plane and heli-taxi services, alongside promoting joy rides and river cruises. The government will invest Rs 1 crore to train tourist guides, taxi and auto drivers, and security staff, with diploma courses introduced in universities. Plans also include developing the Gadag-Kappatagudda-Lakkundi tourism circuit, constructing a ropeway in Chikmagalur district through PPP, and a Rs 100 crore project to develop Anjanadri Hill as a tourist destination, pending necessary clearances.
