Minister P.K. Sekarbabu stated that Chief Minister M.K. Stalin firmly protected communal harmony during the Thirupparankundram Karthigai Deepam dispute, opposing what he described as a 'conspiracy of Sanghis.' Sekarbabu suggested the judiciary appeared to favor these groups, while Stalin remained resolute despite the issue being sub-judice. He also noted Stalin's participation in numerous religious events to counter claims that the DMK opposes believers.
