PMK president Anbumani Ramadoss has accused the Tamil Nadu DMK government of fiscal mismanagement, alleging a Rs 2.2 lakh crore gap between borrowed funds and capital expenditure since May 2021. He stated the state borrowed over Rs 3.86 lakh crore, but capital expenditure was only Rs 1.66 lakh crore. Ramadoss criticized the borrowing pace, noting it has significantly increased the state's debt in a short period, contrasting it with the debt accumulated over 70 years prior. He questioned the utilization of the borrowed funds, suggesting they were not fully converted into infrastructure assets as claimed.
