The Allahabad High Court has quashed a criminal case, including charges under the SC ST Act, related to alleged land allotment irregularities from over two decades ago. Justice Shekhar Kumar Yadav ruled that a mere mention of Scheduled Caste land or the informant's caste status is insufficient to invoke the SC ST Act. The court found the case to be predominantly civil and revenue in nature, stating that the prosecution amounted to an abuse of legal process. The FIR was lodged in 2022, over two decades after the alleged events.
