Supreme Court Seeks Feedback on Three-Year Practice Rule for Judicial Exams

The Supreme Court has sought feedback from all high courts, National Law Universities, and law schools on the minimum three-year law practice requirement for appearing in entry-level judicial services examinations. This follows the court's May 2023 ruling barring fresh law graduates from these exams. A plea by Bhumika Trust requested exemption for Persons with Disabilities (PwDs), citing hiring challenges. The court emphasized uniform criteria for all candidates, expressing concern that exemptions might cause feelings of inferiority among exempted groups and plans to consider any changes after gathering nationwide input.
