Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced alternative housing in Baiyyappanahalli for families displaced by demolitions in Kogilu Layout. The decision, made on humanitarian grounds, follows concerns raised by AICC general secretary K.C. Venugopal. The Chief Minister stated that notices were issued to occupants of the government land, where houses were built on a landfill since 2020-21. Eligible families will be allotted houses in a multi-storey complex, with government subsidies available. He also ordered an investigation into how illegal encroachments occurred.
