Punjab Cabinet Approves New University, Recruitment Drive, and Development Policies

The Punjab Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, approved the establishment of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur World Class University at Anandpur Sahib, with a draft Bill to be presented in the Assembly. It also cleared the recruitment of 1,158 posts, including 1,091 assistant professors and 67 librarians, through the Punjab Public Service Commission, offering age relaxations for candidates. Additionally, the Cabinet approved the Industrial Business Development Policy 2026 and revised policies on sports quotas and social security benefits for government employees' families.
