Punjab Cabinet Approves Sri Guru Teg Bahadur University and Recruitment of 1,158 Teaching Posts

The Punjab Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, approved the establishment of the Sri Guru Teg Bahadur World Class University at Anandpur Sahib, with a draft Bill to be presented in the Assembly. It also sanctioned recruitment for 1,158 posts, including 1,091 assistant professors and 67 librarians in government colleges, with age relaxations for candidates. Additionally, the Cabinet approved the Industrial Business Development Policy 2026 aimed at economic growth, streamlined sports quota criteria, amendments to health service recruitment rules, and an ex-gratia grant for a fallen home guard's family.
