Russia accused Ukraine of attempting to attack President Vladimir Putin's residence in the Novgorod region with 91 long-range drones on December 28-29. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov called the alleged incident "state terrorism" and warned of retaliation, stating Moscow would revise its negotiating position. Ukraine, however, strongly denied the claims, with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy labeling them a "complete fabrication" intended to justify further Russian strikes and undermine peace efforts. It remains unclear if Putin was at the residence during the alleged attack.
