
The Uttar Pradesh government plans to develop 47 villages in Lakhimpur Kheri district bordering Nepal under the Centre-sponsored Vibrant Village Programme II (VVP II). The initiative aims to provide all-weather roads, telecommunication, and promote infrastructure, tourism, cultural heritage, and skill development to enhance livelihoods. The programme covers border villages across six districts, with implementation coordinated by the UP planning department and overseen by a district-level committee led by the Kheri district magistrate.
