Jaishankar Highlights Growth and Accessibility of India's Passport Services
External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar highlighted the transformation of India's passport delivery system, describing it as 'truly democratised,' swift, and accessible. He noted that annual passport issuance exceeded 138 lakh in the 2025-26 financial year, reflecting growing aspirations. The expansion of Passport Seva Kendras from 77 in 2014 to over 545, along with 454 Post Office Passport Seva Kendras, supports this progress. Jaishankar expressed confidence that this service will continue to improve, contributing to a prosperous and globally connected India.
