BMC to Seek IIT Bombay Experts' Verification of Bhandup Railway Overbridge Design

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) will engage experts from IIT Bombay to independently verify the design of the proposed 530-metre railway overbridge in Bhandup, focusing on a sharp turn in its alignment. Construction began in 2024 with 30% completed, aiming for completion by January 31, 2027. The bridge will connect Veer Savarkar Road and Lal Bahadur Shastri Road, expected to reduce travel time and ease congestion on nearby routes. A traffic simulation study will also be conducted to ensure safe vehicle movement.
