Starting February 25, 2026, visitors from 85 visa-exempt countries must obtain an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) before traveling to the UK. The ETA, costing £16, is a mandatory digital travel permit checked by airlines prior to boarding. British and Irish citizens, including dual nationals, are exempt but dual British citizens must present a valid British passport or Certificate of Entitlement. The ETA does not guarantee entry, which remains subject to UK border control. Indian citizens remain unaffected as they require visas.
