The Delhi High Court has ruled that a father's obligation to maintain his minor children does not diminish even if the mother earns more. Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma emphasized that child maintenance is a legal, moral, and social responsibility for both parents. The court stated that a mother's role as primary caregiver, alongside earning, should not force her to exhaust herself while the father evades responsibility. The ruling came while modifying an interim maintenance order for three children.
