The Delhi High Court has ordered the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) to vacate and restore the Yamuna floodplain area it occupies by March 31, 2026. The court expressed surprise at the lack of action regarding the removal of DMRC's batching plants and casting yard, granting an extension for dismantling. After the deadline, DMRC will be restrained from using the area and must ensure it is restored to its original condition without debris. The Delhi Development Authority is to file a compliance report.
