
The Centre has urged the Andhra Pradesh government to adopt and expand the public-private partnership (PPP) model to modernize healthcare services, particularly in rural and semi-urban areas. Key focus areas include nuclear medicine, radiology, cancer day care centres, dental clinics, and mobile medical units. The Ministry highlighted shortages in community health centres and inadequate access to nuclear medicine facilities, proposing private sector engagement for 5 to 10 years. Fourteen cancer day care centres have been sanctioned for Andhra Pradesh, aiming for nationwide PPP coverage by 2027-28.
