Punjab SIT Recovers 169 Missing Guru Granth Sahib 'Saroops', Investigation Continues

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann announced that the Special Investigation Team recovered 169 of the 328 missing 'saroops' (sacred copies of Guru Granth Sahib) from religious sites near Banga. Of these, only 30 have official records, while 139 lack documentation, prompting further investigation. The recovered 'saroops' will be handed over to the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee following religious protocols. The case involves allegations of criminal breach of trust and forgery, with arrests made. Mann emphasized the recovery as a duty, alongside announcing welfare schemes during a Maghi Mela event.
