King George's Medical University (KGMU) postponed its planned outpatient department (OPD) boycott from January 13 to January 14 after Vice Chancellor Soniya Nityanand met Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The delay followed assurances that an FIR would be registered and prompt action taken regarding the January 9 campus violence involving vandalism and alleged misconduct towards women. Various university staff bodies had threatened the boycott due to the lack of police response, but agreed to defer it to prioritize patient care.
