Punjab's Goods and Services Tax (GST) collections have seen a decline of over Rs 500 crore in three months following the Centre's tax reforms that reduced GST slabs. Finance Minister Harpal Cheema attributed the shortfall to the Central government's actions, stating that states are suffering due to these changes and seeking the resumption of GST compensation. The state had previously shown consistent revenue growth but now faces challenges in meeting its annual GST target of Rs 27,650 crore for 2025-26.
