The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) achieved a significant victory in the recent elections for zilla parishad chairpersons (ZPCs) across 27 districts in Arunachal Pradesh, winning 25 posts. The BJP also dominated municipal corporation elections in Itanagar and secured over 6,000 gram panchayat seats. This outcome strengthens the BJP's position in the state, with a focus now on empowering grassroots governance, ensuring financial independence for local institutions, and effectively implementing funds, functions, and functionaries for village development.
