
From March 1, the Vande Bharat Express will be extended to run directly between Jammu Tawi and Srinagar, reducing travel time to around five hours. The train, previously operating between Katra and Srinagar with eight coaches, will now have 20 coaches to accommodate increased passenger demand. The service aims to enhance connectivity, boost tourism, and provide a faster, more reliable alternative to road travel in Jammu and Kashmir. Scheduled departures are 6:15 am from Jammu and 2 pm from Srinagar.
